Conditions We Manage
-
Dyspareunia refers to persistent pain during intercourse, often caused by pelvic floor dysfunction, vaginal dryness, or other underlying medical conditions.
-
Genitourinary symptoms of lactation, perimenopause, and menopause are caused by decreased estrogen in the body, and include vaginal dryness, irritation, and urinary issues that can affect sexual health and overall comfort.
-
A hypertonic pelvic floor occurs when the pelvic muscles are overly tight, leading to pain, discomfort, and dysfunction, including bladder and bowel issues as well as painful intercourse.
-
Lichen sclerosus is a skin condition that causes thinning, itching, and pain in the external genital area, potentially leading to scarring, tissue atrophy, and sexual discomfort if left untreated.
-
Low libido, or reduced sexual desire, is a common concern for many women and can be influenced by physical, emotional, and hormonal factors. Causes may include stress, fatigue, relationship issues, hormonal changes (such as during menopause or after childbirth), and certain medical conditions or medications. At our practice, we take a compassionate, comprehensive approach to help uncover the root cause and offer tailored treatments that support your overall well-being and sexual health.
-
Menopause marks the end of menstrual cycles, typically occurring around age 51. It’s officially diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a period. This stage can bring symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, decreased libido, and changes in bone or heart health due to declining estrogen levels. We offer comprehensive, evidence-based solutions to help you maintain your health and quality of life during and after this transition.
-
Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause, often beginning in a woman's 40s but sometimes earlier. During this time, hormone levels fluctuate, which can lead to symptoms like irregular periods, hot flashes, mood changes, sleep disturbances, and vaginal dryness. Our practice provides personalized care to help manage these changes and support you through this natural phase of life with confidence and comfort.
-
Vaginismus is the involuntary tightening of the pelvic floor muscles, making vaginal penetration painful or impossible. This condition can impact sexual activity and gynecological exams.
-
Vestibulodynia is a type of vulvodynia that causes pain or burning at the vulvar vestibule, which surrounds the vaginal opening and urethra. It is a common cause of painful intercourse.
-
Vulvodynia is chronic pain in the vulva without an obvious cause, often described as burning, stinging, or raw sensations. It can interfere with activities like sitting, exercising, and sexual intercourse.
